Pavarotti was born on 12 October 1935 in Modena, Italy.
His father, Fernando Pavarotti, was a baker and amateur tenor, and his mother, Adele Venturi, worked in a cigar factory. When he was a boy, Pavarotti showed an interest in farming and football, as well as music.
